The regulatory vise and deteriorating market conditions continue to reshape the crypto exchange landscape. Faced with restricted access to liquidity, a sharp contraction in trading volumes, and unsustainable legal compliance costs, CoinEx has officially announced the implementation of an orderly liquidation procedure for its operations. This phased shutdown serves as yet another illustration of the challenges intermediaries in the sector face in maintaining profitability against current industry requirements.

The closure process follows a strict timeline that requires prompt action from investors. Following the suspension of new registrations and restrictions on derivatives in mid-September, the pivotal date is set for September 29, marking the final closure of the spot market. After this deadline, all cryptocurrencies remaining on the platform will be automatically converted to USDT. It is therefore imperative for holders who wish to retain their tokens in their original form (such as Bitcoin or Ethereum) to complete their withdrawals before this systematic conversion takes place.

Although the firm asserts that it maintains a reserve coverage ratio exceeding 100%, theoretically guaranteeing the availability of all assets, execution times should not be overlooked. While the withdrawal window remains open until December 22, inaction will result in heavy financial penalties. After this final date, unclaimed funds will be transferred to a third-party custodial service and subject to monthly management fees of 5% deducted from the original balance, which will gradually erode the remaining capital.

This closure compels affected users to reorganize the custody of their crypto-assets toward more sustainable alternatives. The market is primarily leaning toward two options: transferring to centralized platforms compliant with European standards, some of which offer financial incentives such as deposit bonuses of up to €3,500 when converting stablecoins, or returning to the ecosystem's fundamentals through self-custody on hardware or software wallets. This event highlights the importance for every investor to adopt a proactive approach to managing digital assets in the face of industry shifts.
