The filing of quarterly 13F reports with the SEC has finally shed light on the institutional players invested in XRP ETFs in the United States. These regulatory documents reveal a hierarchy marked by the strong resurgence of Goldman Sachs, which has emerged as the largest holder with an exposure valued at approximately $87.4 million. This figure highlights a notably agile strategy from the investment bank: after having almost entirely liquidated its positions in the first quarter, it executed a massive reallocation, increasing its exposure twentyfold in just three months.

The rankings also highlight the emergence of new major players, such as Jane Street and Millennium Management, which report $16.6 million and $16.2 million in assets, respectively. However, the presence of these institutions should not be interpreted as a sign of unanimous directional conviction. As market makers and multi-strategy funds, these entities often use these financial instruments for arbitrage or risk hedging, a common practice in complex portfolio management.

Nevertheless, the significance of this data should be put into perspective. 13F forms only apply to managers with over $100 million in assets under management and cover only a fraction of the market, leaving a significant portion of retail investors and smaller structures in the shadows. This structural opacity means that current reports offer only a partial view of the ecosystem, even as the cumulative inflow into U.S. XRP ETFs now approaches $1.7 billion.

This institutional dynamic highlights a persistent divergence between financial inflows and the token's valuation on the secondary market. While net weekly inflows recently reached annual highs, this vitality in derivatives does not necessarily translate into an immediate boost for the XRP price. This gap serves as a reminder to investors that institutional interest, while essential for the asset's credibility and liquidity, does not always mechanically dictate price trajectories, reflecting the complexity of current interactions between traditional finance and crypto markets.
