While validators can still launch "canonical" markets, the bulk of activity is expected to stem from these independent deployers—a model inspired by the success of the perpetual markets previously launched by the platform.
However, gaining the status of market creator comes with significant barriers to entry designed to deter malicious activity. Users looking to participate must stake a bond of 500,000 HYPE—a value of approximately $30 million at current rates—which will be locked for six months. This security deposit, which can be partially or fully slashed by validators in the event of mismanagement or incorrect market resolution, acts as a direct financial incentive for operational rigor and transparency.
In exchange for this massive investment and the responsibility taken on, deployers will benefit from an attractive economic model, allowing them to capture up to 50% of the fees generated by their own markets. This structure is intended to boost liquidity and the diversity of trading opportunities. With an impressive volume of $100 million recorded within the first month of the HIP-4 product launch, Hyperliquid is positioning itself as a key player in the rapidly expanding financial prediction sector, while simultaneously creating structural pressure on the supply of HYPE tokens locked through these security deposits.
