This closer cooperation is driven by South Korea's dominant position in the global high-bandwidth memory market, which is indispensable for training AI models. Local giants like SK Hynix, which controls nearly 60% of the HBM memory market, and Samsung serve as the beating heart of this ecosystem. By establishing a presence near these manufacturers, U.S. firms are securing their strategic supply chains. Beyond silicon, the massive rise of data centers presents colossal energy challenges. To address this, a portion of the U.S. capital is being directed toward the energy transition, notably through the development of an offshore wind farm with a capacity of 3.2 gigawatts.
