Kraken has reached a pivotal milestone in bridging traditional financial assets with the launch of its xStocks Vaults. This new service allows investors to generate passive yield on tokenized stocks and ETFs—such as SPYx, QQQx, or NVDAx—without requiring technical expertise in decentralized finance (DeFi). By automating the staking of these assets via its proprietary Ink blockchain, the exchange transforms static financial securities into productive instruments within a highly secure ecosystem.

The system operates on a sophisticated yet entirely user-friendly mechanism. When a client allocates their xStocks, they are converted into a "wrapped" version and deposited into digital vaults. These tokens then serve as collateral to borrow stablecoins, which are deployed into rigorous DeFi strategies managed by the Veda platform, in collaboration with established protocols like Aave or Curve. Interest compounding is automatic: gains are converted back into xStocks and reinvested directly into the vault, enabling compound growth without the need for manual intervention.

For the launch, Kraken is offering competitive annual percentage yields (APY), set at 2.0% for SPYx and QQQx vaults, and 1.8% for NVDAx. While these yields are guaranteed during the initial phase, they will subsequently be adjusted dynamically based on borrowing demand within the underlying protocols. Accessibility is a core focus of this offering, with a minimum entry ticket set at 0.001 units of xStock, though a three-day unbonding period is required to withdraw funds from the strategy.

Beyond performance, this tool illustrates the growing convergence between traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized ecosystems. By leveraging proven and supervised infrastructure, Kraken lowers the technical barriers that have historically hindered DeFi adoption among mainstream investors. This strategic positioning, supported by major players in the financial sector, confirms that asset tokenization is no longer a mere experiment, but a powerful lever for the industrialization and streamlining of global financial markets.
