American neobank SoFi and Payward, the parent company of the Kraken exchange, have officially entered into a major strategic partnership aimed at definitively bridging the gap between traditional finance and the digital asset ecosystem. This collaboration is built on advanced technical integration, enabling Payward to join the SoFi Exchange Network (SEN). This real-time settlement network now allows institutional players to execute U.S. dollar transactions 24/7, effectively bypassing the constraints of traditional banking hours.

At the heart of this alliance, Kraken Prime becomes the preferred execution engine for SoFi’s crypto client orders. Through a "smart order routing" system, Kraken’s top-tier brokerage solution aggregates liquidity from multiple platforms to ensure optimal price execution for users. This technical bridge allows the bank to offer a seamless experience to its 15.8 million clients while leveraging the robust, secure infrastructure of a major industry leader in cryptocurrencies.

The operational scope of the partnership also includes integrating the dollar-backed stablecoin SoFiUSD into the Kraken exchange. Although its current market capitalization remains modest, hovering around $313 million, this new exposure to Kraken’s vast user base is expected to boost its liquidity and adoption. For SoFi, this marks a key milestone in its "Big Business Banking" strategy, reinforcing its commitment to providing hybrid corporate banking services that blend traditional finance with digital assets.

This initiative confirms an underlying trend in which fintech giants are striving to build "always-on" infrastructures capable of supporting a non-stop digital economy. By leveraging Payward’s unified architecture, which powers various financial segments ranging from derivatives trading to benchmark indices, SoFi secures a partner capable of meeting the compliance and performance requirements of institutional clients. For Payward, this move is part of a broader drive to expand alliances with pillars of the financial world, such as Deutsche Börse or the London Stock Exchange, cementing the firm's central role in the global institutionalization of cryptocurrencies.
