A strategic synergy has emerged within the French-speaking crypto ecosystem. The Cercle du Coin, a pioneering association founded in 2015 to promote the adoption and understanding of Bitcoin, has officially announced it is becoming a patron of the Institut National de Bitcoin (INBi). This partnership provides financial support specifically earmarked for the institute's research program, which aims to deepen analysis on fundamental pillars such as energy impact, monetary sovereignty, and the preservation of individual liberties in the digital age.
The INBi, an independent non-profit organization, has established itself as a key player in technical and policy outreach to public decision-makers. Its mission is to provide objective data and structured insights to parliamentarians, regulatory bodies, and government administrations. This collaboration comes as the institute has already increased its practical involvement, notably through consultations with the CRE and RTE, as well as by producing technical contributions for the AMLA regarding the complex issue of self-hosted wallets.
To ensure complete intellectual integrity, both entities have safeguarded the independence of this initiative. The agreement explicitly stipulates the absence of editorial influence: the Cercle du Coin exerts no control over the methodology, schedule, or conclusions of the published work. This transparency is reinforced by the institute’s commitment to disclosing all its funding sources in its annual activity report, an essential measure to build trust with institutions and the public alike.
Operationally, this financial support is intended to significantly scale up the institute's analytical capabilities. The funding will primarily be used to strengthen resources allocated to research projects, while also establishing a peer-review system involving independent experts prior to any publication. By further professionalizing its validation processes, the INBi confirms its ambition to become a long-term reference point in the French legislative landscape, at a time when the regulatory framework for digital assets is more central to the debate than ever.
