Global financial index giant S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) has officially entered into a strategic partnership with the French company Kaiko, a recognized specialist in market data for digital assets. This alliance gives rise to a new joint brand, dubbed "S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices." By combining Kaiko's technological infrastructure and real-time data precision with S&P DJI’s distribution power and financial governance expertise, this initiative aims to professionalize benchmarking standards within the crypto sector.

Upon launch, this range offers a massive selection of 4,000 rates and indices. This catalog is split into two primary segments: single-asset indices, designed to accurately reflect the price of a cryptocurrency across various platforms, and multi-asset baskets. The latter cover a wide array of themes, ranging from decentralized finance (DeFi) to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), as well as proof-of-stake protocols. These tools are intended to serve as the foundation for derivative financial products, such as ETPs, futures, and structured funds already favored by institutional issuers.

Beyond simple data aggregation, this tie-up addresses growing institutional demand for regulated and transparent standards. While S&P DJI contributes its status as a benchmark administrator compliant with international norms such as the European BMR regulation and IOSCO principles, Kaiko ensures seamless connectivity with over 150 exchange platforms. This framework provides asset managers with the legal certainty and analytical robustness required to integrate crypto-assets into institutional portfolios on a large scale.

For the French scale-up, this collaboration represents significant recognition of its expertise on the international financial stage. Following a substantial fundraising round and the acquisition of specialized infrastructure, Kaiko has now established itself as a key player alongside the most traditional institutions. This partnership perfectly illustrates the accelerated convergence between traditional finance (TradFi) and the digital ecosystem, where the maturity of measurement tools is becoming the primary catalyst for global institutional adoption.
