Following an unprecedented period of divestment, Strategy, the institutional giant led by Michael Saylor, has reached a major strategic turning point by resuming its massive Bitcoin purchases. Between August 24 and August 30, 2026, the company spent nearly $370 million to acquire an additional 4,603 units. This move ends a ten-week selling streak—a phase that had caught markets off guard and fueled a cautious, or even bearish, narrative surrounding the world's largest Bitcoin reserve.

This latest acquisition brings the company's total holdings to 845,050 BTC, edging dangerously close to its all-time high from June 2026. The transaction was executed at an average price of $80,318 per asset, slightly above the spot market price at the time, demonstrating the firm's resolve to bolster its position despite persistent volatility. The total cost of this colossal inventory now stands at $63.73 billion, with a weighted average cost basis of $75,412 per token.

The strategy was financed through an "at-the-market" equity offering program, enabling the company to raise over $600 million, a significant portion of which was directly reallocated into digital assets. This return to an aggressive accumulation policy contrasts sharply with the summer period, during which the company had sold several thousand BTC to meet financial obligations, including dividend payments and the repurchase of specific debt securities.

Beyond the accounting implications, this shift carries critical psychological weight for the crypto ecosystem. By reaffirming its total commitment to the "HODL" strategy, Strategy is attempting to dispel concerns linked to its recent move toward more flexible treasury management. While MSTR stock remains under pressure from traditional financial markets, with performance trailing its annual highs, this resumption of buying is viewed by investors as a strong signal of confidence in the long-term value of Bitcoin.
